Video: Wreckage of the largest transport aircraft in the world An-225 “Mriya”
- N19PEDL2 5y agoThose Russians have no respect for anyone or anything. I hope their economy will collapse very soon.
- rasz 5y agoApparently the plane was destroyed in Ukrainian counter push by Ukrainian arty fire. Earlier videos even showed tens of burned russian supply trucks and BTRs in front of this Hangar. Obviously they cleared those wrecks before recording ru propaganda piece, cant show your own losses.
- mzs 5y agoYou can see here in satellite imagery from Feb 28 where the Russian artillery round entered the roof of the hanger from the rear, went forward, took out the front of the An-225, and left a debris field in front: https://www.csis.org/analysis/glimpse-worlds-largest-aircraft-destroyed-amid-russian-invasion-ukraine https://www.csis.org/analysis/glimpse-worlds-largest-aircraf... edit: And here you can see drone footage of it burning during said Russian raid: https://meridian.in.ua/news/67768.html https://meridian.in.ua/news/67768.html
- jacquesm 5y agoAfter 15 articles on the aircraft I think we know by now. https://hn.algolia.com/?q=an-225 https://hn.algolia.com/?q=an-225 Russians are using the AN-225, allegedly destroyed by Ukrainian artillery fire while trying to take back the airport as a propaganda item, distracting from their mass slaughter of Ukrainian civilians. Keep in mind that it is just as likely, if not more likely that the Russians did that damage and that if they had not invaded Ukraine that the plane would be sitting there undamaged. I would happily trade it for a single civilian life to be restored. Enough about this plane, it's gone, let's focus on what matters: the lives of Ukrainians.
