Error due to imperfections in
circuit components will never be low enough to make this idea workable.
- shadowgovt 5y agoHe addresses that midway through the video. For general-purpose computers, probably not; digital logic has great error-minimization features that one really wants in operations. Specialized tasks can (and do) gain advantages from this approach. When the system can be tuned around the imperfections, the imperfections become just one more parameter in the analog tuning logic. (Sidebar: if he specifically says "for general purpose, maybe not," why is the title "We're Building Computers Wrong?" Clickbait is frustrating.)
