I love that this blog post recommends pestering people to take a survey, when there is literally a website called usertesting dot com that will connect you with a large panel of willing candidates to take exactly these kinds of tests. I wouldn't take "product management 101" advice from anyone who has so clearly missed the step of researching the competition when it comes to determining product-market fit.

  Usertesting.com is the leading product in the field of remote user testing. It's very expensive, but very much worth it.

  Why not ? I thought it was useful to have insights of how people are using your product and the two approaches help with that.
