Anything emitting radio waves can be a beacon for airstrikes. Is there any reason to believe the Russian military is going to start targeting random Starlink installations? Does Russia have air superiority to even conduct airborne EW to locate the beacons?
Or is this just FUD and someone wanting to get their voice in about any possible intersection of (HOT TOPIC) & (MY SPECIALTY)?
- dzhiurgis 5y ago> Is there any reason to believe the Russian military is going to start targeting random Starlink installations they've destroyed most of traditional comms infra and starlink is being used as backup. it's def a real target. > air superiority to even conduct airborne EW FWIW Russia has 167 satellites, some of which are of course LEO and no doubt doing some EW. There's tons of hubris in Russia, but at least theoretically the should be able to pull this off. Their own personnel is using unencrypted HF radio which is almost like trojan horse level of incompetence.
