Sanctions are necessary to hold back the steppe warlord sitting in the Kremlin. For humanitarian reasons we should make it easy for Russians to defect to the west if they want no part in what the Russian state is doing. I don’t want to economically hurt Russian civilians more than we really need to in order to save Ukraine.
