Vladimir Putin 'still uses obsolete Windows XP' despite hacking risk (2019)
- throwoutway 5y agoI saw this image (taken today) on CNN's website of Vladimir Putin sitting in his office next to a PC that appears to be running obsolete Windows XP: https://dynaimage.cdn.cnn.com/cnn/digital-images/org/9d1a64ff-02d4-4d52-b6af-a16d13b2a638.jpg https://dynaimage.cdn.cnn.com/cnn/digital-images/org/9d1a64f... It seems nothing has changed since this article (and others in 2019) confirmed he is using Windows XP
- throwoutway 5y agoThe Guardian article shows me a paywall now, so here is an alternate Forbes article confirming the same: https://www.forbes.com/sites/daveywinder/2019/12/18/vladimir-putin-vulnerable-computer-does-the-russian-president-really-use-microsoft-windows-xp/ https://www.forbes.com/sites/daveywinder/2019/12/18/vladimir...
- tester756 5y agoIs it connected to the internet? If not, then what's wrong?
- Friday_ 5y agoDoesnt matter if it's windows ME, if not connected to internet.
- belter 5y agoIt's Linux:"Astra Linux" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astra_Linux https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astra_Linux
- throwoutway 5y agoIt's not though; I thought that too but the UIs are not the same and previous articles confirm it is Windows XP
- belter 5y agoIt was a 2 year old article. Now they use mostly Linux Astra. If he uses Windows XP, that is just a confirmation of his insanity.
