- kaa2102 15y agoThe prospects for NYC as an entrepreneurial tech hub are looking better. I think Stanford and Cornell just want a piece of the action.
- nitashatiku 15y agoYeah, it's cheap city-owned land and a chance to get in on NYC's bid to become the innovation capital of the East Coast.
- cienrak 15y agoRight but why not use the local schools who have better resources and roots here?
- scott_s 15y agoI agree with you, but the reason stated in the article by an anonymous source is reputation.
- cstefanovici 15y agoI hope NYU-Poly wins the bid but the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship is not quite there yet like it is in places like Stanford. (even though that's in the school's marketing efforts)
- blackguardx 15y agoIt isn't all about CS.
- hristov 15y agoThey already have their engineering schools in much better Manhattan locations, so I doubt they will be willing to invest hundreds of millions (or perhaps billions) to build a new campus on Roosevelt island.
