Could we stop conflating these companies? Personally I wouldn't work for FB, but I would like to work for Apple. The others fall between those two extremes.

- rg111 5y agoFB has created Reason, React.js, GraphQL, PyTorch, and so on. Apple is like jewellery to rich people. This is how I see it. I have friends in FB, and I hear that it is an extremely good place to work. I will never seek a job at Apple or Amazon. I will consider options in Netflix, Microsoft, FB, and Google, though.
- r-zip 5y agoThere is more to it than the libraries both companies create. FB has facilitated various societal issues (surveillance advertising, conspiracy theory spreading/radicalization, depression in younger users, etc.), but Apple for the most part just builds products people enjoy. To some (most?) the software projects produced are a secondary consideration.
