Is there a reason this article (mostly) spells Africa with a k? Is this an expression of something?
About the management, I really liked what "the dictators handbook" had to say about this.
As I recall,it argues that a country rich in resources is more likely to be poorly managed. One of the reasons is because in that case the leaders only have to worry about that resource.
In a less resourceful county they need to care more about the people, because the people are required to generate wealth.
