Hopefully the strategy teams at these large semiconductor companies are aware of the Bullwhip Effect [0] and the investments we're seeing are being done with that knowledge already in hand. IMO the more interesting part of this article is the prediction that a bifurcation will take place. Still a good thing, but interesting that, as of now, most media talks about the "chip shortage" in terms of "Is there a shortage or not?" rather than a more complex model.
