anecdotally i’ll go to ikea for a specific product but will always end up picking up some small items impulsively i wonder what the proportion of a typical spend looks like breaking down planned vs impulsive my guess is majority of money is actually planned and while you buy more items impulsively they’re usually small/disposable/refill purchases (napkins/chopping boards/cups/plastic bags)
