  I'm not denying that's where the information is. But it will be very distasteful to read after the next quarter that their stock went up because so and so many people signed up. Yeah, but why have they signed up... I guess it doesn't matter when you count $$$$.

    If you saw the sign-in banner then likely you haven't seen the content and instead comment to complaint about paywalls or walled gardens, be it Facebook/Reddit/Twitter. It's distracting from the main discussion.
