- capableweb 5y agoAnd whatever you do OP, don't send funds to random organization's IBAN you find on the internet, unless you confirm them beforehand. This particular organization is Army SOS, who describes themselves like this: > Army SOS Citizen`s Initiative coordinates people`s efforts to help soldiers of Ukraine. > We manage purchases of necessary ammunition, shields, intercommunication and reconnaissance facilities, uniforms and food supply. We deliver all goods directly to the unit`s emplacement and pass them right to the hands of our warriors. https://armysos.com.ua/en/ https://armysos.com.ua/en/ Basically, civilian effort to help soldiers on the ground. How do we know it's actually real and goes to Ukrainian fighters? Look them up in other reputable news-sources. Here are some: - https://qz.com/2133095/how-to-support-ukraine/ https://qz.com/2133095/how-to-support-ukraine/ - https://eu.usatoday.com/story/tech/columnist/saltzman/2022/02/24/ukraine-help-support-app-website-donations/6923840001/ https://eu.usatoday.com/story/tech/columnist/saltzman/2022/0... - https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-02-24/ukraine-is-using-crowdfunding-to-raise-money-for-its-military-in-war-with-russia https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-02-24/ukraine-i... - https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/how-to-help-ukraine-charities-donate-b2023089.html https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/how-to-help-ukraine... - https://www.newsweek.com/how-help-people-ukraine-putin-russia-invasion-1682235 https://www.newsweek.com/how-help-people-ukraine-putin-russi... Those sources all back up the website (they link to the same URL), so you can be relatively sure it's been verified. Also a bunch of politicians have mentioned the very same organization (unsure if they actually linked to it). Keep in mind that they have different bank numbers/IBAN shared depending on what currency you want to send over. As soon as you see something on the internet you'd like to contribute to, make sure to verify, verify and verify it before you actually contribute, so you know you're actually contributing to the right thing.
- redwood 5y agoThank you since this one is seemingly well verified I'd like to get the word out
- ThePowerOfFuet 5y agoOP (and everyone else) should probably donate directly to the special account set up by the National Bank of Ukraine for this purpose: https://bank.gov.ua/en/news/all/natsionalniy-bank-vidkriv-spetsrahunok-dlya-zboru-koshtiv-na-potrebi-armiyi https://bank.gov.ua/en/news/all/natsionalniy-bank-vidkriv-sp... Just for clarity, just like the account number (IBAN UA84 3000 0100 0000 0047 3309 9270 8) is the same for all currencies, so is the SWIFT BIC (NBUAUAUX).
