It makes them less likely to rear-end me. Yes. But it's a scary idea for the driver in front of you to have such a system. If they (their car) suddenly goes into hard braking for no visible reason on the highway, you might be rear-ending them.

    So now it's just an arms race where everyone else has to get a newer car to avoid getting drawn into unprovoked accidents caused by bugs in other cars software? Not really a world I'd prefer to live in.
