Let the soldiers go. They don't seem to be too motivated to go killing -- appreciated!
1941 my grandfather was send to the eastern front. Aged 17. The Russians could have easily killed him in revenge.
They shared their rotten potatos -- all what was left for everybody there. And in the end they send him home, without detention. He got sick anyway, became an adult in war, he had to walk back from Russia and only reached Schleifreisen in Thuringia, were a family took care of him (otherwise he would have died, 200km from home)... but at least the Russians back than showed mercy. Otherwise I wouldn't exist.
Young men shouldn't go to war: party, find love, get too old for war.
