- runnerup 5y agoVery little discussion of performance trade offs here. At my workplace, the various disk encryption and antivirus slows full recompile time from 4 seconds (on an unsecured laptop) to 8 minutes (on the only laptop I’m allowed to use for work). It has an unbelievably huge negative impact on my productivity when the REPL cycle is 8 minutes per change.
- rurban 5y agoYou are lucky. My build needs 20m on the Windows machine. With Antivirus and overly small HD. On Linux it's 20-40s.
