Oh geez. As someone who lives in Canada's capital, the word "convoy" is a bit of a trigger right now. Bah.

- CosmicShadow 5y agoI came here to say the same thing and I'm not even near Ottawa. I'm not sure why you were downvoted, but possibly because Americans have no idea just how big of a deal this was. Convoy will probably be a horrible word for the next few years at least to most Canadians. I know this will have no effect to the company and they won't rename anything, nor should they, but it stands to be known.
- francislavoie 5y agoExactly. I'm not expecting anything and wasn't even suggesting it, just wanted to speak my mind. But yeah. I just hope people realize that Canada essentially had a domestic terrorism event. No deaths, but it was extremely disruptive to the local economy and to residents for nearly a full month. People couldn't sleep due to trucks honking, couldn't walk the streets without getting harrassed for wearing a mask, BIPOC were scared for their safety in their own neighborhoods, etc.
- tlhunter 5y agoThey probably named the project years ago. Edit: 2021-09-06, most likely: https://whois.domaintools.com/getconvoy.io https://whois.domaintools.com/getconvoy.io
- francislavoie 5y agoOf course, and I'm not asking them to change it or anything. Just speaking to current events and feelings about the word. But that's all. No criticism to the project or maintainers.
