It's not a very good question and it's not a very good answer either. Discussing the DOCTYPE without mentioning SGML or XML seems to be a bit weird to me.

- rjh29 5y agoThat was more relevant 10 years ago. Nowadays the primary point of the html doctype declaration is to say 'I am HTML5'. I know this and I'm not even a frontend developer.
- forty 5y agoAgreed it's not too relevant, but if you are going to ask a knowledge question, rather that a skill question, you might as well expect some theoritical knowledge :)
