    If China were trying to coax Mexico into joining some special pact against the interests of the US, can we assume the response from the US would be swift? How different is this?

      My comment is not about taking sides. I'm talking about the entire situation and world politics in general outside of this situation. Humanity. People worried about whose next door and how strong they are and what their allegences are etc etc. You could take world politics and play it on the school playground and it wouldnt look out of place.
