I hadn’t heard about any of this, especially the latest batshit crazy bigotry from Abbott (TX). That guy is a grade-A sociopath. I’d love to see him voted out of office, but with the voting rights suppression in Texas right now in effect, lacking any overriding federal law to restore sanity to the democratic process here, as a Texas citizen/resident in a large city, my vote literally doesn’t count. I hate to even think this, but the fact is that this kind of abuse will only go on so long before people are forced to take violent action against their government. Which, even now, certainly could be argued to be illegitimate, the result is fixed elections.
