Sergif: Record GIFs with Your Webcam
- gfody 5y agoimpressive work at 15 nice job! you know with recordrtc.js you could specify 'type: video' and 'mimeType: video/webm' and serve a .gifv - or are you explicitly trying to support very old devices?
- UltiRequiem 5y agoNo, I didn't know about `.gifv` files, I will update the sites to use them! Thanks for the kind words!
- woodruffw 5y agoI'll do the obnoxious HN thing of pointing out that you can do this with an ffmpeg one-liner, without a browser, JS, or your data ever leaving your machine: ffmpeg -f v4l2 -framerate 15 -i /dev/video0 recording.gif That being said: this is very impressive work for a 15 year old!
- UltiRequiem 5y agoYep, actually I knew about that one liner, the video on the blog was recorded using `ffmpeg` lol, I will update the blog including it in the final notes But also let's remember that this works even in your phone! Thanks for the kind words!
