Looks like information war. Russians does not have enough military to win war with Ukraine, so trying to convince Ukrainians, that something terrible happen.
And sure, for this they captured Chernobyl site and cut communications, so now could simulate anything.
At the moment, those attacks have only one real win - mobile networks where overloaded, so become unusable, and nothing more.
- rurban 5y agoThey have 100.000 soldiers at the borders, 5x more than the Ukranians 20.000. But you are right, even with 5x more soldiers, you cannot suppress such a huge country which already tasted democracy and already ousted their corrupt Russian shill president. With mass strikes you can easily get rid of them. Even if they keep their tanks there. This will be Putin's biggest mistake. Chernobyl is only for the press, I think. Could be hacker attack into their sensor network. Or they really stirred up the containment. But what Russian soldier would do that?
- simne 5y agoNew information arrive every few minutes. Russians made war trick - they just move large military forces through Chernobyl zone, because nobody believe they will. And defenders of Chernobyl zone tried to stop invade, so there were battles. And territory very large and on most even nobody care about pollution, just prohibited entry. So battle/explosions/fires, rise large amounts of polluted dust, and sensors register that. At the moment zone occupied by Russians, and communications cut, so no more info from there.
