DuckDuckGo still has this, but it's not in the form of a button. Instead, if you prepend a backwards slash (\) to your query, it'll take you to the first webpage in the list of results. This is done server-side, so it also works in your browser's search bar.
- xanaxagoras 5y agoThat's awesome!
- jrmann100 5y agoDuckDuckGo's !bangs[0] deserve a mention as well, where you can use an exclamation point with an (abbreviated) site name to forward your query to the site's internal search (try !hn). (Using a plain ! anywhere in your query seems to do the same thing as \) 0: https://duckduckgo.com/bang https://duckduckgo.com/bang
- tentacleuno 5y ago> DuckDuckGo's !bangs[0] deserve a mention as well Agreed. They're an awesome feature, too. I just like sharing this little trick every now and then as it's not really mentioned anywhere (I accidentally discovered it), unlike bangs which DuckDuckGo very strongly advertise.
- freedomben 5y agoCan you still implement bangs and submit them? Would love to do that. Edit: Yes! https://duckduckgo.com/newbang https://duckduckgo.com/newbang

- striking 5y agoOh, neat! I've been using the lone `!` but it's so hard to type on mobile because I need to tap space twice before it. I'll give this a shot.
- xigoi 5y agoAnd obviously, it's called “I'm Feeling Ducky”.
- avnigo 5y agoExcept this unfortunately doesn't work as expected and has some inconsistent behavior: https://old.reddit.com/r/duckduckgo/comments/sp9e5r/backslash_does_not_actually_go_to_first_result/ https://old.reddit.com/r/duckduckgo/comments/sp9e5r/backslas...
