Radiological Maps of Chernobyl
- Trasmatta 5y agoI posted this in another thread: This site is suspect. The "radiation map" page did not seem to exist before today: https://web.archive.org/web/20220224230609/https://www.saveecobot.com/en/radiation-maps https://web.archive.org/web/20220224230609/https://www.savee... They claim to have "1 million users", and yet only have 22 Twitter followers: https://twitter.com/SaveEcoBot https://twitter.com/SaveEcoBot It smells of a misinformation campaign to me. If there was a spike of radiation at Chernobyl, I'm sure we would quickly hear about it from more reputable sources.
- ct0 5y agoTheir whois says the domain has been active since 2018 though, not that registration means much. https://www.whois.com/whois/saveecobot.com https://www.whois.com/whois/saveecobot.com
- Trasmatta 5y agoOther parts of the site are on Internet Archive before today, so the entire thing wasn't just created today. But the "radiation map" itself seems to be new. The difficulty in finding any solid info about this site and their sources, some weird things about the radiation distribution they're claiming, the total lack of followers on social media, and the fact that there are no other sources claiming a detected increase in radiation yet makes this entire thing super suspect.
