KDE vs. Gnome: What’s the Ultimate Linux Desktop Choice?
- hulitu 5y agofvwm. Light, customisable, works as expected, does not try to be smart, does not get in the way.
- Jeff_Brown 5y agoIf, like I do, you need visibility hacks, KDE is the clear winner. Gnome's screen zoom has a fixed magnification level, whereas KDE lets you zoom in and out arbitrarily. And KDE lets you invert the colors of the focused window with a keyboard shortcut; Gnome offers no such thing.
- noicebrewery 5y agoIt's always going to be something lightweight and probably tiling for me. Right now I'm using Sway because I'm doing the Wayland thing and I'm a sucker for /r/unixporn type desktops. That being said eventually you end up with both the Gnome and KDE libraries anyway - plus a handful of Electron apps are unavoidable today.

- seanw444 5y agoI used to prefer Gnome. Thought KDE was gross. And then I tried KDE. Personally, I like WMs. Awesome is the best one I've experienced.
