Bethesda doesn't need this kind of publicity; they're one of the biggest and most successful studios this side of EA or Activision. Skyrim has been hotly anticipated (and its release date announced) for about a year, now. I can see this having a minor effect on Skyrim sales, but I certainly can't see it having a positive one.
