Ask HN: Anybody in Ukraine or Russia?
There is no need to reiterate the news, but I was looking for some discussion on Hacker News. Therefore I'm going to ask, what is the atmosphere like, and wish strength to anybody directly affected by war.
Here in Estonia, a country bordering Russia, there just so happens to be independence day, and some people are feeling quite spooked, but of course, there is no war anywhere near here.
- techwiz137 5y agoI am kind of feeling spooked, because Putin hinted indirectly at launching nukes if there was interference. We border Ukraine via Black Sea.
- ukraine001 5y agoVery frightening to see the people in terror, while them sleeping in subways, metros, and trains ( etc. ) I have family here in Poland near the Ukrainian and the Russian border. They have small children which makes it even harder for them to leave.
- weinzierl 5y ago@SecEvangelism (Chris Kubecka, the computer security researcher) has been reporting on Twitter[1] about her escape from Kiev to the Romanian border since the early morning hours (EEST). This is also where I learned about Project Dynamo[2]. It apparently is the organization that assisted her evacuation. - ukraine001 5y agoI am not currently living in Poland, but I am going there to my family soon to stay there with them. My family lives near the border so it is frightening to see them being frightened of the war.♥
