The focus modes seem like a classic engineering attempt at overgeneralizing software; there was "do-not-disturb" mode and the similar "sleep" mode, so why not consolidate them into some kind of overarching superclass that can do both? What we got is a mess that arguably makes the whole thing more confusing.
