- kanetw 5y agoWe haven't finalized on the mmWave yet, but there's standards for human body exposure that we will of course meet. IEC 62311, ICNIRP guidelines, and so on. The mmWave transmitter is directional, and the basic restrictions for local exposure in ICNIRP for the general public is at 20W/m2. The transmitter EIRP is 15dBm, so you'd need to put the entire transmitter's EIRP into a 4cm * 4cm target to exceed those.

Even if device adheres to all regulations it would still be a concern to me as standards are mainly written around phone use (shorter intervals and from side of the head). Also, as you know, regulations vary greatly between countries so there's no consensus on what is safe. Personally, when on conference calls, I use bluetooth or wired headphones to keep my phone away from my head. If I was to use device like that I would prefer for it to have radios separate but I understand the ergonomics (and cost benefits) of all in one unit.
