We've had a few users complain that they had issues downloading large files from Github -- either S3 was blocked alltogether (China) or just very slow (Australia). That was a couple of years ago, don't know what the situation is like today. I think offering BT as an alternative would be a good idea, especially for downloads > 100MB.
