ID.me is a nightmare. I've spend over a month trying to get verified. Their technology is fundamentally broken. I've never seen such an incompetent company in my life. It's absolutely shameful that this singular incompetent company has been handed THE EXCLUSIVE contract for the IRS 2021 tax season... What kind of corruption led to such an monumentally monopolistic mistake? ID.me presence on HN, as a brief search turns out, is full of astroturf nonsense the sort of which HN would never consciously stomach: dreck like this https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=13831921 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=13831921 How does such an obviously corrupt edifice stand??? (I would like to add that the CA DMV appears to ALSO have adopted forcing this fundamentally broken company down all citizens throats?) I would normally not use such a tone, but I am positively IRATE at being unable to login with the IRS and pay my taxes on time due to the insertion of this unwanted non-functioning "service" Get rid of ID.me ASAP!!!!
