Don't ever try a Rohloff or Pinion. Just say no and walk away. I did not know that and a couple of thousand dollars later I'm never going back. All the gears you want, any time you want them, and a great deal of "it just works". Admittedly it does feel a bit weird to say "time to change the oil in my bicycle" :) Which, BTW, happens more often than changing the chain.
