Proof versus potential: Why women must work harder to move up
- giantg2 5y ago"When ‘potential’ is seen as crucial to moving up the career ladder," Where is potential being valued? It seems most jobs want you to prove yourself before giving a promotion. In my personal experience, potential is just a polite way of saying you have a deficiency preventing you from being at the next level. “Hiring managers may pretend to think deeply, but will likely just be drawing on their intuition,” I have also seen this. We're there any suggestions in regards article of how to fix this? I didn't see any.
- proc0 5y agoHow NOT to be a good leader: complain and blame others for obstacles you cannot clear. If you cannot deal with your manager's bias, then chances are you won't be able to deal with your team's bias either.
