Ask HN: How can you write a paper without an advisor?
I am curious about how people submit papers for conferences, or journals in general, without a particular advisor or institution helping them.
What process do such people follow. Any examples of self-directed research?
- drudoo 5y agoMost smaller conference and journals doesn’t require an advisor. Just write your paper and submit it? Not sure what your issue is ?
- jonas_kgomo 5y agoI guess, since i never wrote an academic paper, i do not know if it will be up to par with the methodologies, I thought every research kind of needs an advisor to offer direction, otherwise you can get rejected without knowing the reason.
