Thanks for taking the time to elaborate a bit more.
I didn't know Giuseppe Penone; his work is intriguing. I love that he is looking for analogies between human bodies and the "bodies" of trees.
I hear you about generative art. There's something dead about most of it. But I find it worth the effort to investigate if it can be more.
DendroRithms is based on a series of hand-drawn pieces in Japanese ink I made a few years back. I created the algorithm using the same methodology I used to create that piece. With this project, I'm researching what the blockchain can be as a medium for art. And generative art lends itself well for that purpose.
Most NFTs are no more than a certificate of authenticity linking to a file somewhere. DendroRithms is different in that it lives on the blockchain. It will be there for as long as the blockchain stays alive, independent of external hosting services.
It's also a living art installation in that participants (buyers) shape the evolution of the project. We don't know the result until the project ends.
One of the participants illustrated the tree-like evolution very well:

I hope this explains a bit more about my intentions.
