I can't ping it from my home in the Chicago area, but I can from my Vultr VPS in Chicago. I have a smallish WISP so probably routed a bit unusually, I've seen traffic go all the way out to SIX then back to Chicago. Edit: indeed a traceroute to github.com appears to die on Fusion Network in Coresite Denver.
