Soil microbial constituents and carbon storage networks are highly dependent on mineral content, organic volume, and soil permeability. Geological survey data from energy sectors including magnetic and ground penetrating radar give a clear picture of the variation that exists. In both temporal and geographic span I suppose we can corelate nutrient density with activity of both industry and weather patterns.
My question is: How can we be sure that carbon contained within a deep marsh, that is converted to farm land, is more/less of a threat to climate? Compared to anthropogenic soil salinity and erosion.
I am also aware of the threat where as river deltas with increased flooding leads to toxic oceanic blooms. Assuming it is effective to sequestering carbon to the Pelagic zones. Further I question as to what the oceanic carbon cycle looks like and how does it fit into the climate regulation?
