If you’re thinking of buying a Dymo, just get a refurbished Zebra printer. They’re actually meant for commercial use and don’t have any of these issues.

- kube-system 5y agoI picked up a heavily used one at auction for dirt cheap and it has been awesome. Everything has a driver for it out of the box and it just works. I bought the cheapest generic labels I could find and they print perfectly. Thermal printers are pretty simple, I’m sure this thing could last enough 20 years.

On something common and simple like a GK420d this ain't terribly hard to replace, but it's definitely something to keep in mind. But yeah, I've accumulated a couple ZPL printers from past jobs and they're fantastic. Even hand-writing ZPL is surprisingly pleasant (as far as printer languages go).
- bradgessler 5y agoBrother also makes a good thermal label printer.
- toomuchtodo 5y agoI have had great luck with the Rollo brand of thermal printers. Hundreds of thousands of labels per month for fulfillment at an apparel org.
