- giordano-bruno 5y agoIt’s also the Pluto return. Pluto, planet of Hades, death, and revolution will return to 27deg Capricorn, the exact zodiac position it held on July 4th, 1776. Welcome to the real Age of Aquarius.
- PolygonSheep 5y agoHas anyone figured out how MM/DD/YYYY got to be standard in America? It makes no sense but I can't find any solid answer on this.
- tony-allan 5y agoCan't find a reason... https://www.theguardian.com/news/datablog/2013/dec/16/why-do-americans-write-the-month-before-the-day https://www.theguardian.com/news/datablog/2013/dec/16/why-do... https://iso.mit.edu/americanisms/date-format-in-the-united-states/ https://iso.mit.edu/americanisms/date-format-in-the-united-s...
- netsharc 5y agoMy guess is it's because humans say "January 3rd" i.e. 1/3.
- spoiler 5y agoThat's not the case in British English, where "the third of January" is preferred.

- karmakaze 5y agoI thought you were thinking of countries like Thailand that has different numbering for the years. [0] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Date_and_time_notation_in_Thailand https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Date_and_time_notation_in_Thai... > Thailand mainly uses the Buddhist calendar, in which the calendar's epochal date (Year zero) was the year in which the Buddha attained parinibbāna. This places the current year at 543 years ahead of the Gregorian calendar. The year 2022 CE is indicated as 2565 BE in Thailand. Despite adopting ISO 8601, Thai official date is still written in D/M/YYYY formats, such as 30 January 2565 BE (2022 CE) or 30/1/2565.
- tony-allan 5y agoA long wait for Thailand's next palindrome day!
- kayxspre 5y agoThe earliest this can happen again is 17 May 2028 (in Thai notation it would be 17/5/2571). Not too early, but at least earlier than 3/3/33.
- asicsp 5y agoSo many 2s, so it is Twosday (Tuesday).
- ranguna 5y agoI believe it's also the day with the most 2s, right ? Next one would be in 200 years.
