It's a mastodon deployment. It's federated and because it's Trump, there's crazy rich people throwing money at him (rich people who are crazy, not crazy rich like Musk or Bezos.) Getting a huge user base on federated social media is great. It won't be long before journalists figure it out and migrate to some left of center federated collective. More, smaller, thematic communities it's good. It took an afternoon for me to spin up and deploy my own mastodon site to be my nouveau social digital home. The more people within the fediverse and the more communities that move away from big tech, the better. They just have to survive the 4chan/antifa trash flood coming their way. Who knows, maybe some code and tooling will come about from whoever maga pays to develop their systems.
