After the FDA issued warnings about antidepressants, youth suicides rose
- Khelavaster 5y agoDeaths of youths on antidepressants were more often falsely recorded as "accidents" or "overdoses" when they were really suicides. Local organizations are incentivized not to raise turmoil by accusing mental health professionals of gross incompetence. Once antidepressants got a suicide warning label, the negative pressure to misreport suicides for people prescribed antidepressants decreased.
