I walked into a Verizon shop last week, held up my old (large) Samsung S9+, and said I was looking for a smaller phone. They said nope, we don't have anything smaller. The S9+ was one of the larger options when I bought it. Now they're almost all huge. So I bought a 6" tall Pixel 5 elsewhere, not quite as small as you're looking for, but a great phone, and it feels tiny compared to the S9+.
