I use it on my amp when setting up my hifi. Just to check both sides are plugged in correctly. I go all left channel, then all right, then back to middle for the rest of eternity. It can be difficult to tell if both sides are working correctly especially if you are closer to one side when listening.
- jimlikeslimes 5y agoEdit: a quick search indicates that people adjust it based on their position relative to the speakers! "The purpose of the balance control is to equalize the output levels at your listening position even when its not centered between the two main channels."
