MacBook Pro Bluetooth Audio balance keeps changing by itself
- Rebelgecko 5y agoThis happens to me all the time for no discernable reason. The first time it happened, I had recently had an ear injury and was freaked out because I thought I had lost hearing in one ear. Nope... The balance just got cranked over to the left for some reason.
- altairprime 5y agoI don’t know why this happens to some and not others, but the macOS app Balance Lock does what it says on the tin: https://www.tunabellysoftware.com/balance_lock/ https://www.tunabellysoftware.com/balance_lock/
- adrianmsmith 5y agoI have a related question: What is the point of the balance setting at all? Does anyone use it, and if so what for?
- jimlikeslimes 5y agoI use it on my amp when setting up my hifi. Just to check both sides are plugged in correctly. I go all left channel, then all right, then back to middle for the rest of eternity. It can be difficult to tell if both sides are working correctly especially if you are closer to one side when listening.
- jimlikeslimes 5y agoEdit: a quick search indicates that people adjust it based on their position relative to the speakers! "The purpose of the balance control is to equalize the output levels at your listening position even when its not centered between the two main channels."
