Have you ever been assessed for ADHD? I'm not trying to assert a diagnosis based on one post or anything, but "I had random bursts of creativity and energy, but couldn't maintain focus on anything or do boring tasks, and now that I'm taking a stimulant I'm much more able to regulate myself" sounds quite characteristic.
