Japan is suffering a national ennui - WW2 land loss to Russia? Ww2 in general. The youth are having zero or one child and the nation is shrinking. They are still tech strong, but their management hierarchy is aged and sluggish in mind. They were used to creating new patented tech and managing it for optimal life and profit. China has changed things. Things are copied in days, IP ignored in many cases and the product made in huge volumes at lower margins that Japan likes. Look at how they milk games, prosecute every ROM copier - even on dead games they no longer sell. A forward looking management would help these ROMMERs and legitimise them and profit from the exchange - instead dead heads at the top rule as it ever was. There needs to be a wholesale reinvention of the Japanese management hierarchy for them to have any hope - like Silicon Valley startups - what does Japan Inc do - enuf said...
