Those aren’t really two kinds of people. You can be both (as I and the author are). Drink box wine day-to-day because it’s tasty, but still enjoy the subjective qualities of bottles with more of a story to them. And I totally agree with your first paragraph. Expensive overengineered wine seems pointless to me. Terroir is the interesting part.
