I don't disagree but are there any other instances where Japanese Americans had to choose? Also how many Americans would side with the Nazis? there was a Nazi rally in Madison Square Garden a few years before and the government didn't put German-Americans in concentration camps so racism seems to have played a part too.

- YATA0 5y ago>the government didn't put German-Americans in concentration camps so racism seems to have played a part too. This is factually incorrect: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internment_of_German_Americans https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internment_of_German_America...
- lazyant 5y agoYour own quoted article says "1.2 million persons had been born in Germany, 5 million had two native-German parents, and 6 million had one native-German parent." "Many more had distant German ancestry. During WWII, the United States detained at least 11,000 ethnic Germans, overwhelmingly German nationals.[3] The government examined the cases of German nationals individually, and detained relatively few in internment camps". So millions with German ancestry, detained some who were German nationals and only a few in internment camps.
- YATA0 5y agoI can hear the goalposts screeching from all the way over here. >detained some who were German nationals and only a few in internment camps. Not just detained some, Germans accounted for "36.1% of the total internments under the US Justice Department's Enemy Alien Control Program." Nonetheless, you specifically stated: "the government didn't put German-Americans in concentration camps" which is absolutely, 100% a factually incorrect statement. Take the L with grace after being proven wrong.
- lazyant 5y agoI can't edit my post for correctness but my point stands, you are mentioning _German_ nationals detained and we (or at least I) were talking about American citizens (Japanese- and German-Americans), who's moving the posts.
- YATA0 5y ago>but my point stands No it doesn't. Your point is ahistorical and factually incorrect. >you are mentioning _German_ nationals detained No I'm not. The first fucking sentence of the Wikipedia article reads "Internment of German resident aliens and German-American citizens"... German-American CITIZENS. Again, take the L and stop replyguying. You moved the goal posts and are hilariously still wrong. You're fractally wrong. Stop it.
