Most humans, if they were hungry enough and in a position to do so, would kill and eat a baby impala, too. But humans can have and feel pity.

  Humans do not need to be hungry to kill animals, we imprison and kill animals when we aren't hungry. Our notion of pity is strange.

    It's just not the same humans that feel pity and harm animals. There's about 2% of sociopaths among humans IIRC.
