It won’t.
I lived there for years and never owned a car. Nor did I knew someone owning a car.
Obviously, car owner exits there. But a lot of car are transient from the outer core and suburbs.
And that was before uber/lyft. Relying on taxies, métro and bikeshare was already really common.
For me and my peers, car ride inside Paris was a bad idea and a chore.
- jsiaajdsdaa 5y agoI respect this, but on a personal side note I don't understand the allure of city living. There is disease, crime, increased cost, and work is not necessarily there anymore.
- toomuchtodo 5y agoNot to worry, Paris will be fine, and there are alternative locales for those who prefer a more car centric lifestyle.
- dopidopHN 5y agoI don’t know in 2022. But around 2010 for a young French graduate that where the skilled jobs were. No French wants to live in Paris. It’s expensive and full of parisien. But I had fun, met my wife there. And discovered that big city life can enlarge your horizon. Would I live there again? Absolutely not. But I still think it’s was a great experience, and it’s nice to be in «the center of the world ». By that I mean : If something happen in France, it will have some occurrence in Paris.
